(Hawaii Athletics) - For the second consecutive season senior midfielder Raisa Strom-Okimoto has been named to the Preseason All-Big West team and is the lone representative from the University of Hawai'i. 

Strom-Okimoto returns to UH in 2018 as a leader and the squad's most known offensive threat. A season ago and as a  junior she played a career-high 1,470 of minutes, notching three goals and two assists.

The All-Big West squad is determined and voted on by the nine head coaches in the conference. Seven programs are represented on this season's 11-person preseason team with Long Beach State leading the way with three representatives. Cal State Fullerton and CSUN each had two student-athletes selected. 

Along with the announcement of the preseason team, the coaches poll was released with UH projected to finish at the bottom of the standings in ninth place. The Rainbow Wahine lost a total of 12 letter winners from last season, including eight starters, while welcoming in 10 unproven newcomers to the 2018 season.

The first match of the year will take place at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Friday, August 17th with UH hosting the Outrigger Soccer Kickoff. The Rainbow Wahine will face off with Southeastern Conference powerhouse Texas A&M at 7:00 p.m. HT.
