Moanalua High School's among five finalists nationwide competing in the Vans 2018 Custom Culture Competition.

It's a shoe design contest.

Moanalua's entry has a lot of Hawaii influence with a fire knife dancer, surfer, hula dancer, as well as some nene worked into one design.

The other finalists include Fontainebleu High School from Louisiana, Hixson High School from Tennessee, and Middle Township High School from New Jersey.

The winner of the $75,000 grand prize will be announced next week.

The four runners up will each get $10,000 toward their school's art program.
