HONOLULU (KITV) - Starting Monday, the H-1 freeway airport viaduct ramp and H-201 Moanalua Freeway will be closed nightly for repairs at the Middle Street overpass through Thursday.

An incident damaging the railing on March 29th, 2018 is the reason why the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) is closing the area for roadwork.

HDOT tweeted this:

Closures will occur on the nights of Monday, May 7, 2018 through Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. The detours are as follows:

  • Motorists traveling on the eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway may use the Airport/Tripler Hospital offramp (Exit 3) and proceed on southbound Puuloa Road to enter the H-1 Freeway at the Nimitz Highway onramp. Motorists may also use the King Street offramp to enter the H-1 Freeway via the Kalihi Street onramp.
  • Motorists traveling on the westbound H-1 Freeway wishing to access the Airport Viaduct may use the Middle Street offramp (Exit 19A) to proceed on southbound Middle Street and return to the westbound H-1 Freeway at the Kamehameha Highway onramp.
