HONOLULU - Honolulu Police joined Farmers Insurance to bring awareness of "Pedestrian Safety" Tuesday afternoon.

Signs were held at the intersection of Kapi'olani Boulevard and Kaheka Street - near Shokudo Japanese Restaurant and Bar - because according to HPD between Liliha and Punahou, that area has the HIGHEST rate of pedestrian accidents.

Melanie Joseph, from Farmers Insurance Hawaii said, "when the countdown has already started you're not supposed to enter the intersection and a lot of pedestrians don't realize that and they want to help inform these pedestrians that you have to wait until the next cycle before you enter that intersection."
