MOANALUA - The City and County of Honolulu dedicated the bike path along Ala Napunani Street in Moanalua as the Zachary M. Manago Memorial Bikeway Monday.

Manago was hit and killed while cycling along Kamehameha Highway near Leilehua Golf Course in December 2010.

When Manago was hit, he was participating in an organized bike ride.

During today's ceremony, his parents talked about his passion for bike safety and the need for more bike-lanes.

"Our hope is that Zach's name can be a reminder for everyone to share the road, be courteous to one another and ride and drive Aloha with Aloha," Daphne Manago, Zach's mother said.

Manago was a graduate of Moanalua High School and Hawaii Pacific University.

His family hosts a memorial bike ride in his honor every year.
