HONOLULU - Ousted as leader of the Honolulu City Council in January, Ernie Martin was reinstated as the Honolulu City Council chair Monday.

The council elected new leadership today saying its focus is to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.

Kymberly Pine is now Vice-Chairwoman and Carol Fukunaga is Floor Leader.

Martin says among the priorities for the new leadership: rail oversight, fee increases, potential property tax increases and all city finances.

Ron Menor was named chair after complaints of clashes between the council and Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell back in January.
