AIEA, Hawaii - He’s an outstanding educator at Aiea High School and he won what’s considered an Oscar for teaching.

Ken Kang received the "Milken Educator" award at a school assembly Monday, the honor comes with a $25,000 cash prize.

Kang actually helped set-up for the assembly, not knowing it was for him. He is the technology coordinator at Aiea High School.

"Each student is an individual. You can not teach them the same, you got to look at what's going to make that change to get them sparked, to go to that next level," Kang said.

Kang, along with other Milken honorees across the country are gathering in Washington D.C. next month.
