HONOLULU - The architects who favor street-level rail from Middle Street to Ala Moana Center have launched a website.

The website says this plan will save as much as $4.2 billion.  The completion date for this plan will also be five years ahead of the elevated rail plan.

Proponents of the street-level rail also say an extension to Waikiki and the University of Hawaii at Manoa are possible and cost-effective.  They say the current elevated rail plan is cost prohibitive to go to UH and a Waikiki extension is not possible.
