HONOLULU - The National Weather Service is warning Hawaii residents that the winds will be getting stronger this weekend.

Forecasters say a cold front will approach the state from the northwest on Friday and move down the island chain late Friday and Saturday.  Also, a strong high pressure system will pass north of the state through the weekend.

This combination is expected to bring increasing winds to western and central parts of the state late Friday and very windy conditions to all islands from Saturday through Sunday.

Please secure loose outdoor objects.  The strong winds may also bring hazardous driving conditions, especially for high profile vehicles.

If you have outdoor plans for the weekend, be prepared for very windy conditions. If your plans involve marine activities, you may want to consider postponing them.
