WWII Veterans honored for service in France
HONOLULU - They served their country with bravery, and today they were honored for it.
Two men were recognized by the French Legion of Honor Saturday for their service in France during World War 2.
Henry Tessien served in the United States Air Force and Joseph Obayashi served in the United States Army.
Obayashi says after many years the memories from the front line are fading, but he still remembers the important lessons.
“I don’t want to remember all of the things, it’s good to remember part of it, but not all of it,” he said.
Governor David Ige also honored the two men with certificates of special recognition.
