Colt Brennan legacy fund

HONOLULU, Hawaii (KITV4) -- For the University of Hawaii Football program, there is no bigger name than Colt Brennan.  The star quarterback led the team to its finest games and accolades during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Brennan died in May 2021.  He was 37 years old. His family knew that he loved Hawaii -- the people, the University, and the game.  Once asked about it, Brennan said Hawaii will always be his home away from home, adding “My heart lies here in Hawaii … I like the person that I have become here in Hawaii.  I want to give back to a school that gave to me and the community."  While he embraced the Islands, the fans embraced him with arms outstretched.

The Brennan family wanted to make sure that his legacy lives on.  In partnership with the Hawaii Community Foundation, the family has created The Colt Brennan Legacy Fund to honor the memory of their son and brother.

The fund will support causes that Colt cared about - The University of Hawaii Athletics and youth sports. The fund will also support organizations that advocate and provide resources that help individuals struggling with mental health and addiction issues.
