Hurricane season ends Tuesday and 2021, as predicted, was a less busy storm season

HONOLULU (KITV4) - The 2021's hurricane season began early in the Eastern Pacific, with Tropical Storm Andres forming before the official start.

Mexico was hit with numerous storms early on, but the first hurricane to cross over the central pacific waters, Hurricane Felicia, died soon after.

Tropical Storm Jimena also reached the Central Pacific, but then fell apart. That was also the case for Hurrican Linda, which at one time reached Category 4 strength when it encountered cooler waters around Hawaii and fizzled out as a tropical system.

Linda did leave some impact on the state, as the remnant moisture caused heavy rain at the end of August. For the rest of the hurricane season, the activity remained in the Eastern Pacific, where the waters remained warmer.
