Kalihi Shooting Suspect

A man and woman in their twenties were rushed from the scene of a shooting last night in serious condition. It happened at a group home designated for those in recovery from substance abuse.

HONOLULU (KITV4) --  A suspect on the run is now facing charges for attempted murder. Witnesses say they saw the man running shirtless from a recovery home operated by Oxford House.

Honolulu police say the suspect was known by at least one of the shooting victims and the attack at the group home was not random. A witness saw the assailant hop a fence and run shirtless towards the Nimitz Highway via Auiki street.

Both the man and woman in the their 20s were shot in the back. Police also say the woman was punched several times in the face.

Two residents of the group home, operated by Oxford House, spoke to KITV 4 saying they had been trying to reach their housemate since he was rushed in serious condition from the scene Tuesday night. As of Wednesday, the housemates were unsuccessful in reaching him.

Police are currently reviewing surveillance video from businesses in the mixed use residential- commercial neighborhood.
