KITV4 has confirmed Oprah Winfrey bought 870 acres of land in Kula -- in the central part of Maui.
KULA, Hawaii (KITV4) -- Oprah Winfrey has purchased 870 acres of land in Kula in the central part of the island of Maui, KITV4 has learned.
The media mogul, who has her own television network, is adding more real estate to her already robust collection of properties she already owns in Kula that totals more than 100 acres.
Oprah’s recent purchase came at a price of nearly $6.6 million for the 870 acres of agriculturally-zoned land from Hawaii-based seller Ulupalakua Ranch, according to the sales deed obtained by KITV4.
Oprah, who has been a part-time Maui resident for more than 15 years, was just in Hawaii earlier in 2023, hiking with her friend and fellow television personality Gayle King on the island of Kauai.
Oprah’s former personal trainer, Bob Greene, also owns property on Maui. He originally was the inspiration behind his former client’s initial Maui purchases.
KITV4 has reached out to Ulupalakua Ranch and Oprah's team for comment.
