Lennox Leads Sparks Past Liberty

New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - Betty Lennox came off the bench and ended with 20 points and seven rebounds, as the Los Angeles Sparks took a 69-60 win over the New York Liberty.Tina Thompson added 16 points and grabbed eight boards for LA, which has won three of five since losing four in a row. Candace Parker, in her second game of the season, had eight points and six rebounds in just over 23 minutes. Janel McCarville had team highs of 18 points and six rebounds to pace the Liberty, who have lost four of five. Essence Carson added 12 points and Shameka Christon chipped in 10 in the loss. New York shot just 36.8 percent from the field, and made only 3-of-17 from three-point range. Los Angeles scored just nine points in the opening quarter, but built up a 53-47 lead heading to the final stanza. The Sparks opened the fourth with an 11-4 run, and held on for the win from there.
