Mercury To Pick First In WNBA Draft

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Mercury won the sixth annual WNBA Draft Lottery on Thursday and will select first in the 2007 WNBA Draft.

The Mercury's win in the lottery marks the first time in the league's history that the team with the smallest mathematical odds won the top pick..

The Mercury had just 25 chances out of 1,000 to receive the first overall selection.

The San Antonio Silver Stars will have the second pick in the draft followed by the Chicago Sky, Minnesota Lynx, Charlotte Sting and New York Liberty.
