Winds still light out there, so that'll mean some pretty clean conditions in the water for the most part. Trades did make a comeback today, but speeds won't ramp up all that much all the way into the weekend. Doppler radar tonight...we are seeing some showers picking up already tonight...right along north kona into south kohala tonight, there's more on the way...in fact chance for heavy showers especially windward and mauka possible tonight. Also, weather service posted a special marine warning for waters off west Kaua'i ...chance for a water spout to develop offshore, associated with this storm cell just south of LEHUA ROCK... Heading to the east Pacific....where it has been a VERY busy hurricane season so far...tropical storm Norbert just formed today off southwest Mexico. ... this is the 14th named storm, and if you look at records, the 14th storm of the season doesn't typically arrive til early october..so its way ahead of schedule. Norbert expected to approach baja california by thursday, strong winds and 2 to 4 inches of rain possible. To mexico's northeast coast Tropical storm Dolly expected to make landfall tonight bringing with it nearly a foot of rain ...that'll likely lead to mudslides and major flooding. Back here at home ...Tonight, showers picking windward and mauka spots, some of those showers may be heavy. Tomorrow, winds light.. winds light, so there's a chance leeward spots could still see those afternoon cloud build ups at least the next few afternoons, clearing after sunset. Apparently some on O'ahu spent part of their Labor Day covered in cornstarch. The annual RUN OR DYE 5k took over Aloha Stadium..look at all that green..thats eco-friendly, plant-based powdered cornstarch dye... mahalo to all of you that sent in your ulocal hot shots.
