Karina tonight a little about 12- HUNDRED miles east of Hilo...and its actually not advancing forward tonight...its stationary in this spot here over the open ocean...we're not expecting much movement until this weekend...that's when Karina moves backwards and treks up to the northeast....this all a result of its interaction with Tropical Storm Lowell right behind it. lowell, actually gained some strength today, but look at its path, moving in a northerly direction, and then falling apart over the weekend...so both tropical storms not posing any threat to the state. Island by island.... kaua'i..east trades 10-15 mph...lows in the mid 60's...morning trade showers.. O'ahu trades 10-15 mph ...damp on the windward side in the morning. Sunny west o'ahu./ maui county...east maui, wet overnight into early morning.. Trades 10-20 mph frequest showers, cloudy in hilo.. Afternoon clouds and showers in kona. Extended weather, calling for another batch of showers over windward and mauka spots of kaua'i saturday morning and then saturnday night for windward spots of the other islands... sunday looking good.
