The National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Narda is already losing strength in the Eastern Pacific.
Narda is about 1,225 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of Baja, California, according to the latest update on Tuesday at 11 a.m. HST. Forecasters say maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 40 mph. Additional weakening is expected during the next 48 hours. Narda is forecast to become a tropical depression by Wednesday and a remnant low by Thursday.
The storm is tracking west-northwest near 13 mph. Forecasters are expecting a decrease in forward speed to begin later Tuesday. Narda is expected to move slowly westward by Wednesday afternoon.
