Maui County releases online storm damage report form

Published  4:54 PM HST Jul 30, 2013

The Maui County Civil Defense Agency announced Tuesday that a damage report form is available online at www.mauicounty.gov/civildefense.  Anyone not able to use the online form may report storm-related damage by calling Civil Defense at 270-7285.

Individuals and business are asked to report storm-related damage to the Maui County Civil Defense Agency to ensure that the County of Maui has a complete picture of the damage caused by the July 29 storm event.

Damage reports do not constitute an application for financial or other assistance. Reports must be submitted by Friday, Aug. 2, 2013.

The data collected will allow county officials to determine if Maui County will qualify for any State or Federal assistance, as well as assistance with floodplain mapping. Completion of a Damage Assessment survey does not constitute an application for assistance; affected parties must file claims with their insurance companies.
