Surf warning downgraded to an advisory

A high surf warning from Kauai to Maui was downgraded to an advisory Tuesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory is affecting the north and west facing shores of Kauai, Oahu and Molokai as well as the north facing shores of Maui and the Big Island.

Surf on the north facing shores will be 18-to-24-feet-tall diminishing to 6-to-10-feet-tall by Wednesday.  West facing shores will be 12-to-18-feet-tall declining to 3-to-6-feet-tall on Wednesday.

The high surf advisory will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday.
