The strong winds blowing through the state with heavy rains caused a number of power outages around Oahu on Thursday.

At one point, about 14,000 customers were without power.

Some pockets of neighborhoods were still without electricity into the evening.

Hawaiian Electric Co. officials said they dispatched crews from Waianae and Central Oahu to Kaneohe and Kaimuki to work on restoring power.
