The University of Hawaii football program will host a Celebration of Life for the late Jack Willis Wilson III on Monday, Dec. 9 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The memorial service begins at 6:30 p.m. and the public is welcome.
Wilson passed away last Saturday on the morning of the team's season finale against Army.
Among the speakers include several of Wilson's teammates and his position coach Chris Wiesehan. The Stan Sheriff Center opens at 6 p.m. and those attending should enter through Gate A.
Wilson was a walk-on running back. He was a junior majoring in sociology.
Born in Pearl City, Wilson graduated from Lakes High School in Lakewood, Wash., where he was an all-state running back and the South Puget Sound League's offensive player of the year. He then attended the University of Washington for three years and received the team’s Brian Stapp Special Teams Scout Player of the Year Award in 2010 before transferring to UH this past summer.
Wilson's father Jack Wilson, Jr., played for UH in the late 1980s.
