The University of Hawaii football team earned its first win of the 2012 season against Lamar at Aloha Stadium Saturday night, 54-2.
Hawaii quarterback Sean Schroeder passed for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
The Warriors had a balanced running attack with four players with at least 43 yards or more.
Sophomore running back John Lister had two touchdowns and 55 yards rushing.
Freshman running back Will Gregory had six carries for 62 yards -- 10.3 yards per carry.
Schroeder spread the passing touchdowns among three Warrior receivers -- Trevor Davis, Chris Gant and Darius Bright.
Freshman Davis led all receivers with 85 yards on three receptions -- a 28.3 yard per reception average -- with one touchdown.
The Warrior defense held the Cardinals to 127 total yards. Hawaii had 20 first downs compared with six for Lamar. The Cardinals converted only one third down out of 12 attempts. Lamar also had three turnovers; Hawaii had none.
Lamar's only score of the game came with 8:19 left in the 4th quarter when UH botched a PAT and the Cardinals returned the ball 85 yards for two points.
Hawaii's next opponent is Nevada (2-1) on Sept. 22 at 4:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium.
