UH vs. USC preview
University of Southern California football head coach Lane Kiffin actually replaced University of Hawaii head coach Norm Chow as offensive coordinator for the Trojans when Chow left for the NFL.
Kiffin is entering his third season as the head man at USC. His first game as the Trojan's head coach was against the Warriors at Aloha Stadium back in 2010. USC won the game 49-36.
This Saturday, the Warriors kick off their season at USC in front of the largest crowd a UH team will have ever played in front of.
Kiffin and his Trojans are the top-ranked team in the country and they're loaded.
USC is led by senior signal-caller Matt Barkley, who, by most accounts, starts the season as the Heisman Trophy frontrunner.
Barkley was the start quarterback in Kiffin's first game as head coach for the Trojans. He threw for 257 yards against the Warriors and tied a school record with five touchdown passes. Barkley is a big reason why USC is number one in the polls.
Mike Edward has jersey number one for the Warriors and played at Tennessee as a freshman straight out of high school in Cleveland, Ohio. Head coach for the Volunteers back then -- Kiffin.
Warriors practice early Thursday morning and leave Honolulu in the afternoon.
