Jahmai Webster joined the KITV4 Sports team in August 2010 as the weekend sportsanchor/reporter.
He comes to the Honolulu from KXXV/KRHD in Central Texas.
Jahmai is proud to say that he is of the team that puts together the Islands’ leading high school football coverage -- KITV4’s "High School Blitz."
Jahmai graduated from California State University Northridge, Mike Curb College of Arts Media & Communication with degree in Broadcast Journalism. Jahmai says he discovered his love for journalism in high school.
He was the sports reporter for "The Word” where he won numerous awards, for his work, including one for "Reporter of The Year".
In college he reported and anchored for Valley View News, the school's television station, and produced and anchored sports for KCSN 88.5 FM, the school's radio station.
Jahmai's career started at KRHD-TV in College Station, Texas as a sports reporter. He was quickly promoted to weekend sports anchor at KXXV in Waco, Texas.
Jahmai believes that covering sports is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle. He enjoys the unique coverage opportunities Hawaii has to offer.
Jahmai is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and is excited to call Honolulu home!
In his free time, he enjoys hitting the beach, playing basketball, traveling, exercising, and hanging with family and friends.
He hopes one day to be a pro surfer; he says, "Hey we’ve all got dreams."
Jahmai looks forward to continuing his coverage of all UH Sports and local Hawaii high school sports teams.
