For thirty-six years, the Queen Lili`uokalani Keiki Hula Competition has been held to honor the memory of Hawaii's last Queen.
KITV4 is proud to have broadcast the Competition since 1996, bringing Hawaii's families a beautiful, heart-warming TV event that's become a summertime tradition.
The Kalihi-Palama Culture and Arts Society has made it possible for thousands of Hawaii's keiki to demonstrate their talent in the traditional artform of hula. In August, our statewide audience will enjoy the unique hula talents of both boys and girls in traditional kahiko competition on Friday, August 3; in comtemporary `auana style on Saturday, August 4; and on both evenings, featured highlights of solo competition for Miss Keiki Hula and Master Keiki Hula.
Keiki Hula 2012 will be hosted by KITV4 News anchor Paula Akana.
