Donald Trump wants to build a $300 million hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.

Donald Trump

He filed plans Thursday for the 65-story Trump International Hotel and Tower.

The building would be built on part of the Frontier Hotel property across from the Wynn Las Vegas resort project and next to the Fashion Show Mall.

Trump said the hotel would have 1,000 rooms, 50 condominiums, a spa and restaurants -- but no casino.

The real estate developer called it a "super high-end, luxury hotel condominium tower."

If building plans are approved by the Clark County Commission, construction could begin early next year and take two years to complete.

At 645 feet, Trump said his would be the tallest building in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Times-Review, when asked about the 1,149-foot-tall Stratosphere Tower, which has an observation deck, restaurant and thrill rides atop a hollow concrete structure, Trump said simply, "That's not a building."
