Study Says Oahu Only Island To See Increase

HONOLULU -- Occupancy at Hawaii hotels averaged 63.1 percent in November, down from 63.5 percent recorded in the same month last year, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC.The study said that the statewide average daily room rate fell for the 17th consecutive month, dropping 9.4 percent to $161.08 in November.That led to a 10 percent decline to $101.64 in revenue per available room, a key gauge of hotel profitability and performance, Hospitality Advisors LLC said.Oahu was the only island to see occupancy increase in November, up 4.1 percentage points to 72.6 percent. The increase was driven by an international convention that brought 30,000 Jehovah's Witnesses to Waikiki during the month, Hospitality Advisors said.Hotel Occupancy Island Rates:
