DOT releases lane closures for Oahu starting Sunday

Closures scheduled for Ala Moana Boulevard and Wilikina Drive

Parts of Ala Moana Boulevard in Honolulu and Wilikina Drive in Wahiawa will be closed starting Sunday, July 28, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Two lanes will be closed on Ala Moana Boulevard between Smith Street and Kalakaua Avenue in both directions from Sunday night, on July 28, through Friday morning, on Aug. 2., from 8 p.m. to 5 p.m. nightly due to utility maintenance, landscaping installations and sidewalk repairs.

There will also a roving, slow-moving right lane closure on Ala Moana Boulevard in the eastbound direction between Aloha Tower Drive and Forrest Avenue on Monday, July 29 and Thursday, Aug. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. daily for landscaping maintenance.

There will also be lane closures on Ala Moana Boulevard in both directions between Piikoi Street and Koula Street starting on Sunday, July 28 through Monday, July 29 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for utility installations.

Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work area and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather permitting.

There will be alternating single lane closures on Wilikina Drive in both directions between Funston Road and Kamananui Road starting on Monday, July 29 through Friday, Aug. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for road improvements.  Traffic will be contraflowed through the remaining open lane.
