The Haleakala National Park on Maui remains closed after it was placed under a Winter Storm Warning, Tuesday.

The National Weather Service issued the warning until 6 a.m. on Friday.

NWS says there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations on the summit.

Anyone planning a trip up there -- including hikers and campers -- should consider postponing until the weather improves.

Over the weekend, a winter storm dropped snow on the mountain as far down as Polipoli State Park -- about 4,000 feet below the summit.
