HONOLULU - The man accused of killing another man in Chinatown nearly two years ago is now in police custody.

Honolulu Police arrested Tiseye Eric Puapuaga around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Honolulu CrimeStoppers said that he ran off to California, where police arrested him for different warrants. He was then returned to Hawaii.

He allegedly shot and killed the then 34-year-old Isaac Mamea in front of the Maunakea Liquor and Grocery Store in September 2017.

A grand jury indicted Puapuaga for second-degree murder and two firearm offenses.

Puapuaga's bail is set at a million dollars -- he is scheduled to be in court next Tuesday.
