HONOLULU - Tots attending Queen Emma Preschool had a snow day Thursday.

140 keiki were in a winter wonderland, as twelve tons of manmade snow was sprayed over the school's courtyard.

Though many had seen snow on trips to the mainland -- but for others, it was their first time experiencing the white flakes.

Mittens, stocking caps, snowballs and snow angels were all a part of the festivities.

According to Principal Susan Okoga, the snow day is a part of the children's educational experience.

The school has celebrated the snow day for 11 years straight.
