Smoking is an expensive habit and according to Wallet Hub those in the islands could be seeing their money go up in smoke.

Hawaii has been ranked as the 7th most expensive state for smokers in the nation.

The study shows it costs people about $50,000 per year and more than $2.4 million dollars in a lifetime.

Wallet Hub based the price tag off of cost of cigarettes per day over several decades, health care costs, and the total amount of income lost over smoking.
