The PGA Tour 2019 season is one tournament in the books after the conclusion of the the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui. Xander Schauffele trailed by 5-strokes headed into Sunday and after a bogey on his first hole he closed with an 11-under 62 tieing the course record at Kapalua Plantation to win by one stroke over Gary Woodland.

The tournament came down to the final hole when Woodland just missed a birdie attempt on 18 that would have sent it into a playoff after Schauffele previously birdied 18 to go into the club house with a stroke advantage.

Schauffele made four birdies on the front nine and closed within a stroke of Woodland from which it became a two golfer competition. Schauffele eagled 12 and then birdied 14 and 15 to grab the solo lead. Woodland kept toe to toe after a birdie on 15 tied it back up.

Both golfers birdied 17 and Schauffele also birdied 18 which Woodland could not match.
