Kailua-Kona native John Ursua confirmed to KITV4 that he will forgo senior season and enter the 2019 NFL Draft. Before Ursua began his UH football career he spent two years in France with a church mission and now is a 24-year-old redshirt junior wide receiver. 

Ursua redshirted in 2015, and 2016 as a freshman he showed glimpses of what would become a record breaking career hauling in 53-receptions for 652-yards, and three touchdowns. 

In 2017 Ursua exploded onto the national radar after leading the nation in receiving yards and 2nd in receptions per game before tearing his ACL in a home game vs San Jose State.

In 2018 he picked up right where he left off before the injury hauling in a nation's best 16 receiving touchdowns and his 1,342 yards is 5th best in the nation.
