Today's Morning Shakas recognized soldiers at Schofield Barracks for saving a mans life, right here at home.
Captain Stephen Leverkuhn, First Sergeant Justin Kline, Staff Sergeant Christopher Doyle, and Sergeant First Class Robby Batongtong, were driving home from Kaneohe Bay on August 21st when they came across a car on fire.
The men dragged the unconcious driver out of the car and got him to safety.
"Selfless service really kind of helped us jump into action you know. We identified that there was a need, somebody needed help, and I think in this circumstance you can take any tropic lightening soldier and they would do the same thing," explained Leverkuhn.
The soldiers were honored with a certificate of commendation from the Honolulu Fire Department at a ceremony on Friday.
