KITV Island News is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and skilled Anchor/Reporter who cares deeply about the community he/she serves. This is not a position for a news reader. Island News anchors are strong reporters and work hard to keep the website and social media active as well.

Strong writers make strong anchors, and the ideal candidate will take pride in a nicely worded script, whether it's a package, VO, or tease. The anchor will work well with producers in stacking the show and writing it.

Responsibilities and Duties

Nights, mornings, weekends, and odd-hours are to be expected. Anchors must be reachable at all hours of the day and be able to drop everything to come in for breaking news.

We're creating a vibrant work environment and this candidate will add to that mix.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 years of reporting/anchoring in a newsroom.
  • Willingness to do weather gives this candidate an advantage!
  • Ability to do quality live shots in the field and anchor from the desk.
