Heavy rain, thunderstorms and localized areas of strong winds possible throughout Tuesday as a new storm system moves over the islands. Flash Flood Watch in effect for the state.

2-4 inches of rain per an hour has prompted a Flash Flood Warning for Kauai and Oahu.

A front to our west combines with a developing low pressure center to our southwest allowing for possible strong rains and thunderstorms to move over the islands. Strong winds will be possible in these thunderstorms along with heavy rains.

The highest chance will be in the morning with some pockets of heavier rains and thunderstorms possible. Rain will linger into the afternoon hours. Highs in the middle 80s with south winds at 15-30 mph.

Gradual clearing is expected on Wednesday for Kauai and Oahu, while Maui County and the Big Island could still see lingering moisture on Halloween.
