WAIKIKI - A rash of robberies in Waikiki led to four arrests on Sunday. Honolulu Police logs show cops arrested four people for second degree robbery between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

They picked all the suspects up at the same location, 339 Royal Hawaiian Avenue. Arrest logs show the suspects are three men- ages 19, 32, and 48; and a 23-year-old woman.

No word on if these are connected, but we talked to a tourism group working to bring down crime in the area. Mufi Hannemann is the president and CEO of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association. "We have talked to [Honolulu Police Department] Chief [Susan] Ballard about this. They're well aware of this. I know they're trying their best. We also talked about having reserve officers present in Waikiki."

Hannemann says HLTA also has good communication with the military, prosecutor, Waikiki Improvement Association, Visitors Aloha Society Hawaii, and area politicians to make sure everyone works together on ways to keep Waikiki safer.
