Maili, HI - Tuesday morning, west bound lanes on Farrington Highway were closed due to a deadly pedestrian hit and run involving three separate vehicles.

Police say a 37-year old man was traveling in a marked crosswalk on Farrington Highway near Linakola Street in Maili around 4 a.m. Tuesday morning, when he was hit by a full size pick-up truck traveling eastbound, who then fled the scene.

Witnesses tell police the man was struck by two more vehicles before being taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

The incident caused police to shut down the westbound lanes of Farrington Highway near Kimo Street for several hours. The highway has been open since 7 a.m. Tuesday.
