Former UH volleyball player Kim Willoughby indicted for murder, child abuse in Puerto Rico.
Former Rainbow Wahine All-American volleyball player Kim Willoughby was indicted Thursday on first degree murder and child abuse charges in Puerto Rico. Willoughby told police her three-year-old daughter slipped and hit her head in the shower while they were living in Puerto Rico in 2016.
An autopsy found the girl died from severe body trauma. Trial's scheduled to begin October 4th. If convicted Willoughby could spend the rest of her life in prison. She played for UH from 1999-2003, for the U.S. Olympic team in 2008 and played professionally in Puerto Rico. Willoughby also made headlines in 2009 pleading no contest to felony assault charges here in Hawaii.
