NANAKULI, Hawaii - Authorities are searching for a man and woman accused of robbing a convenience store in Nanakuli.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Monday.

According to police reports a 24-year-old man took items from the store without making payment. Upon witnessing the apparent theft, a store employee followed the suspect and during that time the suspect pulled a pistol from his backpack and pointed the weapon at the employee.

The suspects fled the area before police arrived on scene and their whereabouts are unknown at this time.

Honolulu police have opened a first-degree robbery case.

No injuries were reported.
