Eligibility must follow American Idol’s Requirements as noted below:

1. On June 1, 2018 you must be 15 to 28 years old (which means you must be born on or between June 2, 1989 and June 1, 2003). If you were born before or after this window, you are not eligible to participate.

2. You must be a legal U.S. resident with the unrestricted right to work in the United States throughout the entire local competition portion, as well as throughout the second season of the television program currently entitled , which is intended to initially air on the ABC television network (the “Program”) and through the term of any post show agreements provided by Producer or any of the other Program Entities (as defined below).

3. You are ineligible to participate in the Program if you competed in any previous season of  and advanced to the public voting stage of the competition (Top 14).

4. To accept an invitation to participate in the competition portion of the Program (currently scheduled to begin in January 2019), you must be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of Producer that you do not have any contractual arrangement that would prohibit you from fully participating in the show and/or entering into any contracts required by Producer, including, but not limited to, an exclusive recording contract, merchandising contract, a live and/or global touring agreement and an exclusive management contract (subject to paragraph 5 below).

5. In the event that you already have a management contract prior to your first audition in front of the Program judges, the requirement to enter into a management contract shall not apply to you provided that you can demonstrate to the satisfaction of Producer and 19 Entertainment that such contract commenced prior to the date of your first audition in front of the Program judges. By accepting an invitation to be a participant, you must timely complete and return such participant agreements, releases and all exhibits, schedules and attachments thereto that will be furnished to you by Producer and/or 19 Entertainment

6. You must not currently be a candidate for public office and must agree not to become a candidate for public office until one (1) year after the initial exhibition of the final episode of the Program in which you appear (if selected to participate).

7. As of May 5, 2018 and continuing through the completion of the competition, neither you nor any of your immediate family members or members of your household (whether related or not), may be an employee, officer or director of: (a) NEG Operations Inc. and all majority owned subsidiaries (including, but not limited to, 19 Entertainment Limited, 19 Entertainment, Inc., 19 Touring LLC, 19 Recordings Limited and 19 TV Limited) (collectively, the “19 Companies”); (b) American Idol Productions, Inc. (“Producer”); (c) American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. (“ABC”); (d) FremantleMedia North America, Inc. (“FremantleMedia”); (e) Telescope Inc.; (f) any of the foregoing entities’ respective parents, subsidiaries or affiliated companies (including, without limitation, The Walt Disney Company and its affiliates); (g) any person or entity involved in the casting, auditions, development, production, distribution, or other exploitation of the Program or any variation thereof; (h) any known, major sponsor of the Program; or (i) any person or entity supplying services or prizes to the Program. The entities described in the preceding sentence shall be referred to herein, individually and collectively, as the “Program Entities.”

8. You must accurately complete all documents provided by Producer, any of the other Program Entities or any other entity providing services to the Program. Producer has the sole discretion to make determinations of contestant eligibility, which are binding and final in all respects, and Producer reserves the right to change any of the eligibility requirements at any time. In addition, you acknowledge and agree that Producer has the sole discretion at any time to render ineligible and disqualify any person who, in Producer’s sole discretion, is sufficiently acquainted with the development, production, administration, judging, exhibition or other exploitation of the Program such that his or her participation in the Program could create the appearance of impropriety.

The Island Idol Silver Ticket Flyaway “Contest” begins with a “Video Submission Period” that begins on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. All times in these rules refer to Hawaii Time.

Employees of Lilly Broadcasting, KITV, Inc., Ohana Broadcast Company, Jones Lang LaSalle, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

Lilly Broadcasting and KITV, Inc. reserve the right to restrict contestants to only persons whose primary residence is within the state of Hawaii.

Audition Video Submission Requirements:

1. You may submit ONLY ONE (1) “Audition Video”. Audition Videos should be submitted to Follow the onscreen prompts to upload your Audition Video.

2. You (or your parent or legal guardian if you are a Minor) must have Internet access during the Video Submission Period and sign up as the User.

3. The Audition Video MUST be submitted by a User at least eighteen (18) years of age (either you or, if you are a Minor, your parent or legal guardian).

4. Your Audition Video must comply with the requirements of the Audition Video Content listed below. Any Audition Video that, in the Sponsor’s discretion, does not comply with the Audition Video Content requirements listed below may be excluded in the Sponsor’s sole discretion.

5. Sponsors reserve the right to determine, in its sole discretion, if you are eligible to participate in the competition. Sponsors may, at its sole and absolute discretion, select any eligible person to advance to any round of the competition.

Audition Video Content Requirements:

1. Audition Videos must conform to the requirements of these Terms and Conditions posted at, and the Privacy Policy available at These Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time.

2. Your performance must be a cappella or with your own musical accompaniment (e.g., you playing a guitar or piano, etc.).

3. Your performance must NOT be accompanied by a backing track.

4. Your performance must NOT contain any post-production voice effects or enhancements or be digitally enhanced or distorted.

5. Audition Videos may be recorded at the time of the audition or you may upload a pre-existing video that meets the Audition Video Submission Requirements.

6. Your Audition Video must NOT include any person other than you.

7. Audition Videos must NOT contain material which is sexually explicit, obscene, pornographic, violent (for example, relating to murder, weapons, cruelty, abuse, etc.), discriminatory (based on race, sex, religion, national origin, physical disability, sexual orientation or age), illegal (for example, underage drinking, substance abuse, computer hacking, etc.), offensive, threatening, profane or harassing.

8. Audition Videos must NOT include mention or feature any un-cleared copyrighted material, including but not limited to songs, music, films, books, television programming, artwork, sculpture, photographs, etc., or identifying descriptions of any copyrighted material.

9. Audition Videos must NOT contain derogatory references.

The Contest “Finalist Review Period” will take place between Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. through 4:59 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 by a “Panel of Judges” consisting of local Hawaii vocalists and entertainers, who are to be determined. During the Finalist Review Period, the Panel of Judges will determine the Top 6 “Finalists” among all eligible Audition Video submissions.

The Contest “Voting Period” begins on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and ends at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Voters can cast a vote once per day, per email address throughout the Voting Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible votes received.

Lilly Broadcasting and KITV, Inc. are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.

All users who submit an Audition Video must be available to make an appearance at the Island Idol Silver Ticket Flyaway at Windward Mall “Event” at 46-056 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744 on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Only the Finalists selected by the Panel of Judges will be required to perform a minimum of one (1) song at the Event. No air and ground transportation will be provided for any Finalist, and Finalists must find transportation at their own expense.

The “Winner” of the Contest will be determined once online voting has concluded. The Winner will be announced on Saturday, October 20, 2018 live at the Event. The Winner may be required to participate in post-Contest performances for the remaining 2018 year and through the end of the 2019 American Idol season. 

Three (3) Prizes will be awarded. One (1) Island Idol Silver Ticket “Grand Prize” will be offered. Grand Prize is two (2) roundtrip airfare on Alaska Airlines from Honolulu, Hawaii to Los Angeles, California, hotel accommodations and an American Idol Silver Ticket that allows for a one-on-one audition with the American Idol Executive Producers. Winner must be available to travel between November 7, 2018 and November 11, 2018. Actual audition date to be determined. Approximate total retail value of the Grand Prize is $1,500.00. No ground transportation will be provided for the Winner. Winner must find transportation at their own expense.

Two (2) Runner-Up Prizes will be awarded. First Runner Up Prize is two (2) tickets to the Bruno Mars concert on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Aloha Stadium at 8:00 p.m. Approximate total retail value is $99.00. Second Runner Up Prize is a Bruno Mars Tour Merchandise Prize Pack. Approximate total retail value is $100.00.

Winners, by acceptance of the prizes, agree to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.

Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of Lilly Broadcasting and KITV, Inc. is strictly prohibited.

Contestants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the Contest.

Contestants further grant to Lilly Broadcasting, KITV, Inc. and Ohana Broadcast Company the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

Lilly Broadcasting, KITV, Inc. and Ohana Broadcast Company reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the Contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
