HONOLULU (KITV) - Actor Burt Reynolds died from a heart attack Thursday at the age of 82.

His acting career spans more than 50 years, starting off in television shows like Gunsmoke and Flipper.

Reynolds also portrayed outdoorsman Lewis Medlock in the 1972 film Deliverance, and is featured in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, that's set to release next year.

He was wanted in many roles- Variety tweeted which ones Reynolds turned down:

Reynolds was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the 1997 film, Boogie Nights.
