Hawaii island is preparing for anything including Hurricane Norman
As Hurricane Norman passes northeast of the islands surf is still expected to peak today and the big island is preparing for anything. Hawaii County Managing Director Wil Okabe talks about how the island is taking heed.
"we may have to implement some closures and to inform people on Hilo bay to move their canoes in preparation of this."
All county beach parks on the north and east side of the island, from south point to Upolu point, will be closed today. Okabe said, after Hurricane Lane, the county is making sure they are proactive during hurricane season.
