(HAWAII ATHLETICS) - Capitalizing off an impressive stint as an all-star in the Cape Cod summer baseball league, University of Hawaii redshirt junior pitcher Dylan Thomas has been named the Russ Ford Outstanding Relief Pitcher.
Thomas, a member of the Hyannis Harbor Hawks, has been close to unhittable in 19 games, including the all-star game. Totaling 27.2 innings, Thomas has recorded 43 strikeouts, while only walking five in the process. Throughout the regular season, he went 3-0 with an ERA of 1.19 and recorded nine total saves.
The Hawks season came to a close on August 7th falling to Falmouth, 3-2 in the playoffs. Thomas took the loss by pitching a summer league-high four innings, striking out eight, and only allowing one run in his effort.
Thomas will return to the island of 'Oahu later this month to begin preparing for the fall season of UH baseball.
