The name game on the Big Island is on!

Hawaii County Councilwoman Sue Lee Loy introduced Resolution 640 at a Committee meeting Tuesday night, requesting the State Board of Geographic Names look for a new name for now infamous "Fissure 8", the most active vent inside Leilani Estates since the eruptions at Kilauea Volcano started back in May.

Lee Loy's asking for consultation with community members with direct traditional, cultural and familial ties to the Puna District, and she's looking for an appropriate name.
