The Hawaii State Teachers Association endorsed Lieutenant Governor Doug Chin for congress Wednesday.

HSTA announced unanimous support for the state's former Attorney General in a crowded Congressional District 1 race.

They're calling it a two person party picking Chin over Ed Case.

"What he does believe in is increasing funding for public education. Increasing teacher salaries and lower class sizes. At the same time Doug Chin has shown over and over again that he is willing to fight for the minorities and for the people," Corey Rosenlee, HSTA said.

A late endorsement with the Primary Election set for Saturday but since Chin's running for Congress. HSTA needed approval by its national board and that process took weeks.
