The City and County of Honolulu released its latest proposal for improvements and changes to Ala Moana Park.

After outcry from residents over losing parking on the ocean side of the park, the latest proposal keeps much of the parallel parking on the makai side. But it changes much of the mauka parallel parking stalls into perpendicular parking.

The latest plans would add a total of 234 parking spots around the 119 acre park, as well as put in a dog park and children's playground.

We'll have more on the plans at the "People's Park" on Island News at 5 & 6.
